Gesu got off to a fast start scoring 5 points in their first 2 offensive possessions. However, St. Barnabas quickly answered with 3 quick buckets of their own to take the lead 7-5 in the first quarter. Gesu had a rough time getting their offense going and the momentum remained with St. Barnabas who were leading 10-6 at the end of the first quarter.

At the beginning of the second quarter, both teams came out very defensive. However, there were many fouls committed by both sides and many baskets were made from the line. Both teams had a trouble getting a grasp of the game but St. Barnabas came out of the second quarter still up 21-15 despite a late push from the gesu bulldogs

The third quarter saw St. Barnabas continuing their momentum from the first half. With many turnovers from both teams, gesu was able to capitalize and went on and 8-0 run to finish off the quarter. St. Barnabas still came out leading after 3 quarters 32-28.

The fourth quarter saw a change in momentum with Gesu clawing their way back in the game with strong defensive play. They moved to within 2 with a minute left to play. Gesu then went on take the lead with 43 seconds left. However, St. Barnabas would make a shot in the final seconds of the game to send the game into overtime.

In the overtime period of play Gesu used their scrappy play to take the lead. They never looked back after that and was able to tack on a few more points to win the game 44-40.
