Gesu - 34 / Holy Family - 10
At the beginning of the first quarter Gesu had the upper hand and went on a 9-0 run early with a couple 3 point shots. Holy Family had trouble finding an answer to the high powered offense of Gesu and was only able to score 1 point in the first quarter. This left the score 11-1 with Gesu in the lead.
Gesu was able to continue their momentum from the first half into the second. With tenacious defense and a fast moving offense they were able to stop the Holy Name advances and add to their lead. At the end of the first half Gesu had the lead 23-2.
In the third quarter both teams played very disciplined defensively. Holy Family was able to only hold them to 9 points in the quarter. Holy Family was also able to generate some offense of their own and tack on some points. However, Gesu was able to go on a run at the end of the quarter and maintained their advantage leading 34-10.
In the fourth quarter, Gesu maintained a patient mind set on offense. Although Holy Family fought valiantly on defense, Gesu was able to grind out the rest of the game. Gesu went on to win 34-10.
