St. Jude Wins the Turnover Battle; Beats St. Raphael 48-33

In a battle of two great competitors, Saint Raphael and Saint Jude went toe to toe in a hard-fought battle. Saint Jude came out successful in grabbing the win, 48-33. All players involved obviously had lots of fun and enjoyed the competition. Throughout the matchup the defense was solid and defiant for both teams only allowing 81 points combined in the entire contest. For Saint Jude, they ran their lock down box-in-one zone defense which forced Saint Raphael to shoot outside shots during the entire contest. For Saint Raphael, they ran a very productive man-on-man defense getting opportunities to trap Saint Jude and force turnovers. Both teams struggled with fouls, but they overcame the adversity. 

Considering the value of each offensive possession, when each team was given the chance at easy buckets at the free throw line they had a high percentage of makes. Offensive rebounds were huge for both teams with each leading to key second shot opportunities. Daniela Shaughnessy and Alexandra Heidt helped Saint Jude take the win with each scoring over ten points. Daniela Shaughnessy, number fifty, had an outstanding game leading her team in scoring with 24 while also recording 14 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. On the other side Claire Barchanowicz and Ava Granzier played their tails off for Saint Raphael. Despite falling short in the contest Ava Granzier, number twenty-one, made constant valuable contributions for her team scoring 6 points and recording 3 rebounds and 1 assist. Overall, the entire game was well played, coached, and officiated.
