St. John Vianney Outlasts Holy Trinity

Right out of the gates the Vikings got off to a 6-0 start. Then the Eagles go on a 4-0 run first a bucket by Kate #22 and #2 point guard Kelsey. The Eagles bounce back from a shaky 0-6 start and end the fourth quarter down 6-8.

The start of the second was a defensive minded quarter from from both teams. There was plenty of aggressive play from both squads creating many jump balls or turnovers Then finally more than 3 minutes in the vikings find a basket which was a jump shot made by Julia  gets a big shot late in the quarter. The Eagles snap a 4-0 run with a minute left with a jump shot, but then give up a layup in transition the other way. The Vikings dominant a well fought second quarter that was scoreless early. They also dominated the boards from key rebounds by Kate #24 The Vikings go up by 6 after 2.

The third quarter the Eagles came out with energy, but could not capitalise on the first early offensive rebounds. The vikings could not break the press, and they could not get a shot off once the Eagles started pressing. The Eagles cut the lead to 3; 20-17.

In the 4th the Vikings strike first with a 3 point play. Then the Eagles come back with one of their own.
