Holy Trinity came off strong in the first half. Kevin Lally (4), Anthony Anghilante (6), Will Briggs (6), Brendan Ansberry (8), and Lucas Adkins (7) significantly contributed to the scoring efforts of the team in the first half. Anghilante added to his scoring success with 8 boards. Going into the third quarter, the score was 31-12, Holy Trinity.
Gesu struggled offensively in the first half, just putting up 12 points. The high scorer was Teagan Fishel, with 6 points and 6 boards to go with that. Jackson Campbell also put up some numbers defensively with 4 rebounds.
Gesu's offense and defense quickly picked up, scoring 23 points in the second half and holding Holy Trinity to 9. The Bulldogs really closed the gap and put up a fight, falling just short with a score of 35-40.
Gesu's Fishel especially stood out with a double-double. Grabbing 10 boards to add to his 16 points, Fishel led the comeback for the Bulldogs. Josh Young put up a big game with 8 points and 7 rebounds for Gesu as well.
In the end, it was Holy Trinity that came out victorious, led by Anghilante's 12 points and 8 rebounds.
