Holy Trinity took on Gilmour in an 8th Grade Boys contest. Holy
Trinity would secure the win 44-23 to close out the first day of the
Gesu Morrissey Classic.
The defenses for both teams would make it difficult for the offenses
to find their groove. However, Holy Trinity would score first, and
they would go into the second quarter with a 6-2 lead. Four quick
points would extend Holy Trinity’s lead to 10-4 early in the second.
They would continue with their offensive trend, though Gilmour would
start to string scoring plays together. Holy Trinity now led 21-13 at
halftime.
An all around effort in the third quarter gave Holy Trinity some extra
padding on their lead. 33-15 would be the score going into the final
stanza. The offensive display would continue in the fourth quarter.
Gilmour would get some more points on the board, but Holy Trinity
closed it out to get the 44-23 victory.
Zeb Eldridge led Holy Trinity in scoring with 10 points in the game.
Nathan Flaherty led the way for Gilmour with 11 points.
