Holy Trinity Rides Strong Second Half to defeat Sts. Robert and William to win Back-to-Back Morrissey Classic Championships

After trailing heading into the second half, the Holy Trinity Eagles fought back to win the 8th grade championship over St Robert and Williams, 47-33

Both teams started off the contest slow, with a solid defensive performance from both teams. No team was able to pull ahead and gain momentum and the quarter ended 9-8 in favor of St Robert and Williams.

The back-and-forth match leaked into the second quarter, with the Warriors taking a small lead at the end of the quarter, 19-15. Jaevon Hairston sparked St. Robert and Williams with 10 points, 5 rebounds at half. While the Warriors had dominate play from Hairston, Holy Trinity had a group effort, with everyone finding points in the first half.

But the tides quickly changed in the second half, and the Eagles came out roaring with energy on offense that the Warriors could not contain. They took the lead in the third quarter, and did not look back. Holy Trinity would seal the deal and take home the championship.

Brendan Ansberry totaled 11 points for the Eagles, while Lucas Adkins tallied 8 points and Anthony Anghilante posted a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
