The Lions of St. Francis ends their tournament run with a big offensive win in the 7th grade championship over Lakewood Catholic Academy, 46-23.
St. Francis jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter, thanks to Earl Jackson and Antoine Wooten accounting for half of the points. Lakewood Catholic Academy was able to contain the St. Francis to a ten point lead, 12-2 to end the first quarter.
The offensive explosion began in the second quarter for the Lions. St. Francis ran away with a huge lead heading into the second half, 31-7.
The second half had a change of pace, with the Saints mounting a close comeback. However, their 16 points in the second half was not enough to take the lead.
St. Francis’ scoring effort was led by Jerome Bohanon, who finished the game with 12 points, and Antoine Wooten, who ended with 9 points. Emon Everett also dominated down low, totaling 8 rebounds.
