Hawken takes down LCA 43-11 (7th Grade)

LCA hopped out to a quick lead early on with a quick bucket from Conner Theofilos off of an inbound.

The next six minutes of basketball were very sloppy, with both teams turning the ball over multiple times, and both teams putting up a great defensive effort. LCA was forced to take a timeout, and coming out of that timeout, Hawken was able to get the ball back and capitalize on a layup by Brennen Twarkdous.

Twarkdous would continue to get open shots underneath, as on the next possession he hit another open layup.
Hawken would continue to put the pressure on in the first quarter, with KJ St. Clair converting an and-one opportunity, and Martin Jackson, along with Twarkdous getting open layups in transition.

At the end of the first quarter, Hawken was ahead 11-2.

Hawken would keep the pressure on in the second quarter, as Will Gardener and Malcolm Claytor would score some easy buckets underneath to begin the quarter.

LCA was able to respond with a layup from Andrew Blesi.

Hawken’s quick and sneaky attack would keep them on top, however, as Twarkdous and St. Clair would each get transition points off of turnovers.

At halftime, Hawken led 24-4.

Coming out of half, Malcolm Claytor started things out with a quick mid range jumper and a transition layup. These were both followed by a three by Lincoln Thomas.

LCA would get their first points of the half off a three by Conner Theofilos.

Hawken would continue to capitalize off of a great defensive effort, and at the end of three, the score was 43-7.

The rout would continue in the fourth quarter, as Hawken would have a running clock in their favor, and run away with the game. The Hawks took down the Saints 48-11.
