University School Preppers beat the St Paschal Baylon Knights in both teams first game of the Morrissey Classic with a final score of 40-32.
The first quarter was back and forth for the University School Preppers and the St Paschal Baylon Knights, with a score of 4-4 at the end of the first.
In the second quarter the Preppers went in with force and picked up the energy, where the Knights worked hard to answer back. Connor Klung, 9 from the Preppers was both prominent on defense and offense tallying 9 points. With 42 seconds left Preppers number 10, Gavin Wright secured the lead going into the 3rd quarter with a 3 pointer, making the score 21-15 at the end of the second.
In the third quarter the Knights came out hot adding 9 points making the score 29-24 and closing the gap going into the fourth quarter. Number 45 Luke Spinos on the knights was a rebound machine in the fourth quarter keeping the nights in the neck and neck game. However, number 35 Jamal Little on the Preppers answered back with a 3 pointer with 1 minute and 30 seconds left in the fourth making the Preppers lead in the game by 6.
University School Preppers would go to hang onto the lead and win with a final score of 40-32.
