St. Raphael Bests Gesu (Salata)

St. Raphael would get the victory against Gesu in a close contest on
court one by the score of 28-22.

Both teams would trade baskets to start to the game. However, St.
Raphael would go on an 8-0 run afterwards, and they would have a 10-4
lead at the end of the first quarter. After both defenses kept each
other off the scoreboard for over 5 minutes, St. Raphael made it 12-4.
Then, Gesu would get their way back into the game as they went on a
7-0 run to close out the half. St. Raphael’s lead was now only by one
with the score at 12-11.

The teams would go back-and-forth in the third quarter. St. Raphael
scored baskets in the early minutes, but Gesu would score in
transition opportunities and use three-pointers. Gesu would take their
first lead of the game late in the quarter, and they had a one-point
lead going into the fourth with a 22-21 scoreline. In the fourth
quarter, St. Raphael would regain the lead early, and the would keep
it. Their defense would be stout to hold on for the victory 28-22

Rory Marcis lead St. Raphael in scoring in the game with seven points
scored. Margaret Lux and Francesca Carlo each had six points for Gesu.
